Andrew Watt-Jones
Andrew was admitted as a solicitor in 1993.
Since 1998, Andrew has specialised exclusively in criminal defence law and has been a police station and magistrates court Duty Solicitor since 1995.
Andrew has been involved in all types of Criminal Defence and Road Traffic work from murder to speeding, (he has led a team who were at one point engaged simultaneously in the conduct of five murder trials in the Crown Court).
Andrew has experience dealing with a wide variety of defence cases and expertly deals with all aspects of the case from obtaining initial instructions, taking and guiding cases originating in the police station and the Magistrates Court right through to trial in the Crown Court, if necessary.
Andrew’s previous experience as a social worker has proved invaluable in assisting him to recognise those cases where learning difficulties / mental illness or personality disorder are of crucial importance.
Andrew has also conducted defences in a number of animal and agricultural cases involving both alleged cruelty and/or neglect as well as agricultural regulatory offences.
