Mike joined the firm in January 2010 and is based in our Salisbury office and is an experienced litigator/dispute resolution specialist who trained and practised for several years in the West End of London at the prestigious firm of Landau & Landau before relocating to this area.
Mike has dealt with a wide variety of matters for commercial clients and private individuals and is equally at home advising business and private clients about all kinds of disputes large or small, and more importantly before things get to Court to avoid disputes, and legal costs, escalating wherever possible. The emphasis should be upon trying to resolve a dispute by seeking practical and commercially sensible solutions (including Mediation, Arbitration and good old “face to face” meetings without rushing headlong into Court proceedings, where possible.
Mike is keen on mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution where appropriate as an alternative to Court proceedings but is a highly capable litigator and advocate. You, the client, will not get “fobbed off” with junior team members dealing with your case as Mike will deal with it personally from start to finish rather than, as unfortunately happens all too often at some other firms, delegating the handling of your matter to junior staff.
Mike can handle most commercial and private disputes and also has particular expertise in Personal Injury claims and is prepared to take matters on a “No Win – No fee” basis where appropriate.
Reported cases for Mike include Office Angels v Rainer-Thomas [1991] IRLR Court of Appeal (Civil Division) – a leading case on the enforceability (or otherwise) of restrictive covenants in employment contracts and many more.
