Richard Griffiths
Richard Griffiths founded this Firm in 1979 after reading law at Oxford and working for the City Firm of Herbert Smith & Co. Having played all his rugby in the front row of the scrum he was naturally drawn to the adversarial approach of the Criminal Courts.
In recent years he has tended to focus on Road Traffic cases and Consumer Protection litigation, his clients have included the Co-op, Judges, Doctors and one or two fellow solicitors! He still keeps his hand in with everyday criminal work by doing his stint as a Court and Police Station Duty Solicitor.
Richard has Higher Rights of Audience which allow him to appear in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal.
Richard's experience ranges from Judicial Review where in a sex discrimination case he was awarded costs against the then Secretary of State for Eduction. He has represented clients before The Institute of Actuaries, The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, The Lands Tribunal, The Jockey Club and has dealt with the full range of Criminal cases ranging from the most basic to Murder.
Richard particularly enjoys trial advocacy.
