Cathy believes that working in criminal law is a vocation—the fact that justice is done with the best result for some of the most vulnerable people is reward in itself. Emotive cases, which require extra care, come up frequently. Cathy always asks herself the question—what would happen to the client without my help?
Cathy is extremely skilled at communicating with youths and she is able to balance coaxing information out of them with careful and patient handling to reassure them and to encourage them.
Cathy had over 15 years’ experience as a paralegal/police station attendee before undertaking a law degree and legal practice course, so she is extremely well versed in the legal system and procedure. With the benefit of this knowledge, Cathy is able to achieve the right result as quickly as possible for the client, while never rushing them, always making time to listen and ensuring their defence is tailor-made. Cathy strongly believes in the importance of getting to know the client and the case thoroughly to get the best result for them.
Cathy spends about half her time in the Magistrates’ Court, with the rest of her time split between the police station and the Crown Court.
Cathy has recently completed her Advocacy and Vulnerable Witness Training which is a highly sought after qualification enhancing Cathy’s considerably existing skills and expertise in relation to dealing with youths, both defendants and witnesses at trial.

”I don’t know how to put into words our thanks and gratitude for everything you have done for us as a family. It has been a very traumatic time and any questions or concerns I had were quickly handled and with empathy, which was what got us though this difficult time. Your bubbly and positive personality and attitude is infectious which made me feel at ease and instilled positivity into me too. As you know we are not from the area, but should we or anyone else need a recommendation for a lawyer you would be our top choice. Thank you for everything you have done for our family and you really are a credit to the company you work for.”
“I really appreciate what you did for me. I know I can be an arrogant sod sometimes but thank you so much for staying and helping when you had no need. The world needs more people like you.”
